i didnt realize it was that time of the year. honestly the year has been going bad but alas the horror of the Vaisakhi Parade is about to happen in edmonton. and i really hope they pick a different route this year. coz most of us hate this.

please know we also have no idea what is going on. this is the most embarrassing display of our culture in existence. now u must be wondering, “pray tell aman- why is this so embarassing?”
guess who decides what happens on the parade?
fucking aunties. omg these aunties r so fucking annoying. i dont even know anyone who wears these clothes regularly. this is not who we r. this is who the AUNTIES WANT US TO BE.
the real vaisakhi parade is a marvel to behold. and yes there are khalistanis there, and most of us consider this to be a fringe group and yes they do chant “khalistan zindabad” and all of us look at them like- “fuck the aunties man”
if ur in north america nothing is more humbling than realizing that the aunties will always be in the pind.
now we lived on a parade route for most of my life. and unfortunately my parents decided, along with- u guess it- aunties, that 15 houses down from the temple…
