It is hard to imagine the worst of times to look worse than this. The world is riddled with so many challenges that we look to each other now wondering if there is anyone who is paying attention. It is difficult for me to pen this analysis, because there was a time when the UN declaration for human rights was the main feature on my bed room wall. I did my MBA with the single idea of wanting to work at the United Nations. Unfortunately my research then revealed more when I lifted the stones we rarely hope to have to lift.

Arguably the UN was conceived to prevent the events that led to the death toll of the two world wars we have seen as a civilization. Nearly 100 million people were impacted by the two wars. Where world war one is the demonstration of global political stupidity winning as treaties forced us into a non sensical conflict after some arch duke was assassinated, world war two demonstrates the whiplash effect that comes with ostracizing and demonizing people to the point of economic destitution.

Where the League of Nations failed us, the United Nations was born. I would argue that the UN was most in its prime under the leadership of Kofi Annan. However in the bygone era it was the collective leadership of the United States and its war against Russia that causes them to decide which lives and conflicts to prevent, which to engineer and how many lives are disposable to their respective national interests.

Not only has the UN lost relevance after Kofi Annan, one could argue it has become incredibly easy to manipulate and game the system. The establishment of the United Nations itself, created the current world order through the establishment of the colonial legislative framework. Let us take a look at the legislative framework of the United Nations to better…
